Alberta Moore Durant

Alberta Moore DuRant age 74, died August 22, 2013 in a Florence hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday August 27 at Sardis Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Born in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Albert Moore and Maggie Godwin Moore. She was a member of Sardis Baptist Church, Woodmen Of The World, and served on the board of Bethany Christian Services. She was retired from the Florence County office of DHEC, where she served as a receptionist for 25 years. She loved people and people loved her. She was preceded in death by a son; Ryan B. "Arby" DuRant, Jr., three sisters; Sylvia Anderson, Erma McDonald, and Virginia Phillips, a brother; Richard Moore. Surviving are her husband; Ryan B. DuRant of Florence, a daughter; Donna (Billy) Winchester of Florence, a son; Michael (Tonya) DuRant of Ft. Collins, Co., a brother; W. G. (Bennie) Moore of Rock Hill, 5 grandchildren.
