Alex R. Kelley

Alex R. Kelley Olanta Mr. Alex Richard Kelley, age 72, died Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Carolinas Hospital after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 4 pm Friday, April 1, 2011 at Olanta Presbyterian Church with burial in the church cemetery directed by Floyd Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the church two hours prior to the funeral service. Born in Olanta, he was a son of the late George Mood Kelley and Rebecca Player Kelley. Mr. Kelley was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, a Farmer, owner and operator of Kelley Grain Company, a member of Olanta American Legion, South Carolina Cattleman's Association, Olanta Lion's Club and was a member of Olanta Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and Sunday School Superintendent. Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by a son, Richard Kelley. A granddaughter, KelbeyAnn Kelley. A brother, Gerald Kelley. Surviving are his wife, Kay Sharpe Kelley of the home. Two sons, William Kelley and David Kelley both of Olanta. Two sisters, Sylvia Richardson of Lake City and Caroline Bryant of Orangeburg. Three grandchildren, Alexis Kelley, Rebecca Kelley and Georgeanna Kelley. Memorials may be made to the Olanta Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, 1501 North Jones Road, Olanta, South Carolina 29114.
