Alice Kirby

Olanta - Alice Keels Kirby, age 93, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018 at her son's home after an illness. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the Olanta Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home. Born in Florence County, she was a daughter of the late Isaac Keels and Mary Beattie Keels. Mrs. Alice graduated from Florence High School, and attended The University of South Carolina where she met her husband, Rudolph Kirby. She was a legal secretary but gave that up to be a dedicated wife and mother. She was a member of the Olanta Baptist Church, and the Ladies Bible Circle; she loved cooking, singing, and art. She was recently recognized for her paper doll creations, but her biggest joy was being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband. Surviving are a daughter, Elaine Kirby Vincent (Ron) of Olanta; two sons, Daniel R. Kirby (Lorraine) of Williamston, New Jersey, and Richard Kirby of Olanta; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Olanta Baptist Church Youth Programs, P.O.
