TURBEVILLE – Amy Elizabeth Gibbons,72, passed away Monday, June 10, 2024, at McLeod Health Clarendon in Manning, SC. A graveside service for Amy will be held 11am, Thursday, June 13, 2024, at the New Zion Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Eric McGill officiating. Visitation will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. Born April 2, 1952, at Tuomey Hospital in Sumter, she was the daughter of the late Delbert Julian Gibbons, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Kennedy Gibbons of Turbeville. Amy lived in Turbeville her entire life until the past two years when she became a resident at Pocotaligo River Health and Rehab Center in Manning. She attended East Clarendon Public schools and was a lifetime member of New Zion Methodist Church, where she was active in the Ladies Sunday School class. One of Amy’s daily pleasurers was her telephone conversations with her friends. She was an avid collector of Madame Alexander dolls, but her first love was her cats! Survivors include her brother, Julian (Barbara) Gibbons of Columbia, SC; one nephew, Andrew (Julie) Gibbons of Greenville, SC; one niece, Elizabeth (Greg) Muth of Columbia, SC; grand nephews, Holden Muth, Barrett Muth, Weston Muth and Graham Gibbons; grand nieces, Caroline Gibbons and Emmie Gibbons. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the New Zion Methodist Church, 7169 Salem Road, New Zion, SC 29111.
