Andrea "Ann" Chandler Knight

Andrea "Ann" Chandler Knight Olanta Andrea "Ann" Knight, age 80, of Olanta died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at her home. Funeral services will be 11am, Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at the Olanta Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery, directed by FLOYD FUNERAL HOME of Olanta. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30pm, Tuesday, June 1st, 2010 at the funeral home. Born in Olanta, she was a daughter of the late Thompson Chandler and Margaret Grace Cashwell Chandler. Mrs. Knight received her Undergraduate Degree from the University of South Carolina and Masters Degree in Education from Florida Atlantic University. She was a member of Alpha Kappa Gamma Sorority, an Educator in the Florence County Schools where she taught high school English and served as a Guidance Counselor for many years. She was a active member of the Olanta Baptist Church where she taught the Edna Myers Sunday School Class, Leader of Missions Group II, church wide Missions Coordinator, past teacher of the Adult Bible School Class and member of the Olanta Garden Club. She had a great love for cats and dogs, they were a big part of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband; Gary Knight and a brother; E.T. "Bud" Chandler. Surviving are a step-daughter; Pam (Charlie) Appleby of Columbia. Three grandchildren; Chrissy (Johnny) Harvin of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Gary Knight, III of Anderson, S.C. and Charles Appleby, IV of Columbia. Two great grandchildren; Jake Knight of Greenville, S.C. and Jayden Harvin of Ft. Collins, Colorado. Sister in law, Margie Chandler of Olanta. Niece; Kay (Hank) Tennent of Florence. Nephew; Tommy Chandler of Raleigh, N.C.. Three great nieces and nephew; Kayce Gibson and AndDrew Gibson both of Florence, Caroline Chandler of Knightdale, N.C..
