Anna May Gosnell

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Anna May Lampkins Gosnell, a resident of Turbeville, South Carolina, who left this world on Sunday, April 6, 2025, surrounded by her children. She was a devoted wife of 44 years, mother and grandmother who always had a strong relationship with God. Anna May was born on August 31, 1943, in the charming town of Belvidere, Illinois. She was a daughter of the late Orval Sherman Lampkins and the late DeLois Mae Plummer Lampkins. Her life was a testament to grace and strength, and she carried her Midwestern values with her wherever she went. She is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Brenda & Rocky Gillette of Jonesborough, TN, Kathy & Stan Turner of Olanta, SC, Lisa & Mike Baptist of Myrtle Beach, SC; one son and his wife, Bob & Renee Gosnell of Branchville, SC; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Oliver Blaine Gosnell; one daughter, Patricia Chappell, two sisters, Bonnie Yardley and Erma Roe; and a very special uncle, Dewey Lampkins. A funeral service will be held 2pm on Saturday, April 12, 2025, in the chapel of Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home of Greeneville, TN. with Rev. Justin Deaton officiating. Burial will follow in the River Hill Cemetery, Greeneville, TN. A visitation in South Carolina will take place on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 6 - 8 pm at Floyd Funeral Home, 136 E. Main Street, Olanta, SC and in Tennessee on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 1 - 2pm at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home, 125 Idletime Drive, Greeneville, TN, 37743. At other times you may visit the family at the home of Stan & Kathy Turner, 1465 Norwood Road, Olanta, SC 29114. Active pallbearers will be, Bob Gosnell, Mike Baptist, Casey McCabe, Anna Harris, Tony Roe, and Derek Gosnell. Honorary pallbearers will be, Gary Sexton, Glenn Gosnell, Randy Gosnell, Jody Gosnell, Wrigley Gosnell, Joshua Edwards, and Brad Johannsen. The family would like to express their thanks to Amedisys Home Health and Physical Therapy and to Agape Hospice for their love, support and care of Anna May.
