Betty Beasley Creech

TURBEVILLE – Betty Beasley Creech, 80, wife of Rev. Jacob “Jakie” Creech, entered her heavenly home on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at McLeods Regional Medical Center of the Pee Dee. Born June 24, 1941, in Winfield, AL, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Wilburn Beasley and the late Verna “Molly” Lynn Beasley. She was a member of Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church and the Grace Thomas Sunday School Class. She graduated from Tupelo High School in Tupelo, MS. She attended Free Will Baptist Bible College (now known as Welch College) in Nashville, TN. She was a Teacher’s Assistant in North and South Carolina, Mississippi, and Georgia. Mostly she was a homemaker, pastor’s wife, and faithful friend. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Mark (Karen) Creech of Turbeville and Steve (Amy) Creech of Huntsville, AL; five grandchildren, Landon (Mary-Buddin) Creech, Leslie (Kipp) Barrineau, and Logan Creech all of Turbeville, Bankston and Mary-Maddox Creech of Huntsville, AL; and a brother, James (Mary) Beasley of Turbeville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Jan McElveen; and her brother-in-law, Tracy McElveen. A funeral service will be held 4 PM on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Theron Scott and Rev. Sherwood Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jonathan McElveen, Josh McElveen, Scott Beasley, Jason Beasley, Hayden Beasley, and Gage Brown. Visitation will be held 3 – 4 PM on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, in the Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church Sanctuary and at other times at the residence, 1156 Mossy Creek Circle, Turbeville. The family request that memorials be made to The Friends of India or the Mandi & Neil Morgan Mission Funds by making checks payable to Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church and earmarking the check to reflect which mission program you desire the funds to go to. Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church, 1097 Horse Branch Road, Turbeville, SC 29162. COVID-19 precautions of face masks and social distancing are required at the visitation and service.
