She was born in Sumter County, South Carolina, a daughter of Mrs. Mary Inez Floyd Mills and the late Charlton L. Mills. Surviving besides her mother of Cocoa Beach, are a brother, Charlton Mills, Jr., of Palm Bay, Florida.
