John Brooks Hobbs John Brooks Hobbs, 44, of Bluffton, South Carolina, husband of Ashley Smalley Hobbs, entered into eternal rest Thursday, March 6, 2014. His Memorial Service will be held, Tuesday, March 11, 2014, Grace Coastal Church, 15 Williams Drive, Okatie, SC,at 2:00 p.m., with a second Memorial Service at Sardis Baptist Church, 3129 Sardis Hwy, Timmonsville, SC, Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL. Brooks was born January 3, 1970, in Darlington, South Carolina, raised at Hobbs X-roads, Sumter County, he was the son of the late William Henry Hobbs, Sr., and Mary Bryan Hobbs. Tiger born and bred, Brooks was a 1992 graduate of Clemson University. He worked in wine sales with Republic National Distributors and restaurant management with the Meritage in Charleston and Columbia. He loved God, his family, good wine and all things Clemson. In addition to his wife, Ashley, Brooks is survived by his two children, Hazel Grey Hobbs and John Brooks Hobbs, Jr, all of Bluffton, SC; two brothers, William (Patricia) Hobbs, Jr. of Shanghai, China, and Lexington, SC, and Bryan (Tricia) Hobbs of Darlington, SC; nieces, nephews and a loving extended family who will miss Brooks very much. In Brooks' memory the family requests memorials be made to the American Heart Association of SC, Memorial Processing Center, 4217 Park Place Court Glen Allen, VA 23060.
