Parker New Zion Catherine Filyaw Parker age 80, passed away Thursday March 19, 2015 at Tuomey Healthcare Systems in Sumter after an illness. A funeral service will be held at 4 PM Sunday March 22, 2015 at Floyd Funeral Home Chapel in Olanta, with burial in Floyd Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM prior to the service. Born in Williamburg County she was a daughter of the late William Dallas Filyaw and Mary Sims Filyaw. She was a retired supervisor for Campbell Soup Company in Sumter, and a member of New Piney Grove Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tommie Parker; one daughter, B. J. Burress; one brother, Leroy Filyaw. Surviving are three daughters, Kathy (David) Woodard of Greeleyville, Jeanette (Lorenza) Solomon of Cades, and Cynthia (Michael) Walker of Manning; two sons, Tommie (Esther) Parker, Jr. of Manning and Jimmy (Terry) Parker of New Zion; three sisters, Betty Richburg of Sumter, Elizabeth Godwin Olanta, Pauline of North Carolina; three brothers,William Filyaw, Edward Filyaw both of Lake City, Dallas Filyaw, Jr. of New Zion; thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
