Charles Moore

Charles Carter Moore, Jr. of Olanta passed away on Sunday, November 3rd, 2024 at the age of 84. Born on June 12, 1940 in Olanta, SC and married Barbara Jane “Tootsie” Bryant Moore from Sardinia, SC on January 3, 1961. He worked for WBTW Channel 13 in Florence (now relocated to Myrtle Beach) 1959 – 1968, then WBTV Channel 3 in Charlotte 1968 – 1970, and finally WCIV Channel 4 in Mt. Pleasant 1970 – 2007 raising his family on the Isle of Palms. At the time of his death, he had moved back to his old family home in Olanta. The son of the late Charles Carter Moore, Sr. and Lila Mae Mims Moore, he is survived by a sister Verna Bragg of Salisbury, NC; his children (and their spouses) Charles “Chuck” Carter Moore, III (Susan) of Mt. Pleasant, Terrie Moore of Olanta, Lorice Poore of Olanta, and Allen Moore of Olanta; his grandchildren (and their spouses) Charles “Carter” Moore, IV (Ashley) of Schuylerville, Amanda Hatcher (Jake) of Hanahan, Chanler Cannon (Charles) of Sacramento, CA, Laurel Reposa (Cody) of James Island, Kaitlin Moore, and Caroline Moore both of Mt. Pleasant; his great-grandchildren Kinsley Moore, Eliza Moore, Jaxon Reposa, Eva Reposa, and McClellan Hatcher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Barbara Jane “Tootsie” Moore, his daughter Sherrie Moore of Summerville, his son-in-law Andy Poore of Sullivans Island, and his sister Rebecca Mason of Virginia Beach, VA. A graveside service will be held 3pm on November 9th, 2024 at Thomas Cemetery in Olanta with . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse, P.O.
