Chris Ray Mclaughlin

TURBEVILLE – Chris Ray McLaughlin, 66, husband of Brenda Welch McLaughlin, died Sunday, January 8, 2023 at MUSC Florence. Born March 22, 1956 in Clarendon County he was a son of the late Beechworth “B.B.” Barney McLaughlin and the late Millie Iona Miles McLaughlin. He attended Frierson’s Tabernacle. He was a retired carpenter. He is survived by his wife of 43 years; one son, Cody (Jennifer) McLaughlin of New Zion; one daughter Paige (Michael) Loyd of Turbeville; one granddaughter, Miah Coker; one brother Tony (Judy) McLaughlin; two sisters, Dannie Faye Welch and Daisy Cooke (James) Matuse all of Turbeville. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, J.B. McLaughlin; two brothers-in-law, Bobby Welch and Berry Cooke. A funeral service will be held at 3 PM on Thursday January 12, 2023, at Frierson’s Tabernacle with Rev. Mike Bennett and Rev. Allen Lynch officiating. Burial will follow in the Turbeville First Baptist Church Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Phil McLaughlin, Shad Welch, Tracy Benenhaley, Jr., Dusty Cooke, Londyn Welch, and Bobby Welch, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnny McLaughlin, Aaron Poston, Gerald McElveen, and Andy McElveen. A visitation will be held from 2 – 3 PM on Thursday January 12, 2023 at Frierson’s Tabernacle and at other times at the residence 2199 Horse Branch Road, Turbeville, SC.
