Lake City - Mr. Clarence Ollie Thigpen passed away Monday, June 2, 2014 peacefully after an illness. Funeral services will be 2pm Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in Lake City Memorial Park, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral. Born December 10, 1924 in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late James "Jim" Edward and Mary Lillie Green Thigpen. Mr. Thigpen retired from Western Union, he enjoyed farming, and was a member of Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Caronell Lee Thigpen; two sons, Glenn Thigpen and Kevin Thigpen; three sisters, Letha Welch, Juanita Welch and Elizabeth Camp; two brothers, Jesse Thigpen and Mervin Thigpen. Surviving are a son, Fred Thigpen of Warrenton, Georgia; Four grandchildren, Katelyn Thigpen and Christopher Thigpen both of New Hampshire, Joanna Thigpen of Warrenton, Georgia, and Catherine Thigpen of Blairsville, Georgia. One great granddaughter, Avery Nell Thigpen of Warrenton, Georgia. Two sisters, Aline McKenzie of Lake City and JoAnn Holladay (J.V.) of Cades. Two brothers, Carlisle Thigpen (Janet) of Hanahan and Julius Thigpen (Dorothy) of Raleigh, N.C. A daughter-in-law, Kathy Thigpen of Jaffrey, New Hampshire. Many nieces and nephews.
