Clyde Cooper, a beloved husband, father, and church elder, peacefully passed away at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC. Born on June 20, 1933, in Williamsburg County, South Carolina, Clyde lived a life marked by devotion to his country, family, faith, and work. He leaves behind his cherished wife of 24 years, Delores Fulton Cooper, whose partnership and love were a cornerstone of his life. Clyde's legacy continues through his three daughters, Michelle Butts, April Daniels, and Kerrin Gordon, as well as his five sons, Kevin Cooper, David Cooper, Clyde Cooper, Patrick Cooper, Alvin Stewart, Cardrick Stewart and a host of grand and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, one child, and ten siblings, whose memories he lovingly carried with him throughout his life. Clyde served his country with honor as a proud member of the United States Army. Upon completing his military service, he dedicated his work career with the Ford Motor Company working on the assembly line at their factory in Edison, NJ. Beyond his professional pursuits, Clyde was deeply involved in his church, Catoe Chapel Church of God in Christ where he served as an elder. His faith and leadership were sources of inspiration and guidance for many. A funeral service will be held 11 AM on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the Mt. Claire Missionary Baptist Church (1009 East Main Street, Lake City, SC). Burial with military honors will follow at 10am on Monday, November 4, 2024, at National Cemetery, Florence, SC. A visitation will be held 5 to 7 PM on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Floyd Funeral Home, Olanta, SC. At other times the family will receive guest at the home, 301 Park Avenue, Olanta, SC. Arrangements for Clyde Cooper have been thoughtfully provided by Floyd Funeral Home, Inc., 136 E. Main Street, Olanta, SC, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his life and honor his memory. Clyde will be remembered for his steadfast dedication to his family, strong work ethic, and unwavering faith. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
