Cynthia Thomas Odom, age 68, of Lynchburg, SC, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024 at McLeod Regional Medical Center. She was born on Tuesday, August 30, 1955 in Sumter, South Carolina, to the late David Allen Thomas, Sr. and Johnnie Sabre Eargle Thomas. Cynthia was a dedicated bookkeeper for many years. She was also a volunteer at McLeod Regional Medical Center and took pride in the fact that she took flying lessons and flew a plane from Orangeburg to Myrtle Beach. She attended Shiloh Christian Church. She is survived by her daughter, Sabre Odom (Jacob) Knight of Florence; four grandchildren, Joah Knight, Sayde Hunter, Jana Knight, and Jacob “Marshall” Knight, Jr.; one brother, David Allen (Becky) Thomas, Jr. of Lynchburg; one sister, Pamelia (Ralph) Howe of Virginia; and beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, August 3, 2024 in the Chapel of Floyd Funeral Home, with visitation following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the McLeod Foundation in Cynthia's memory at 800 E. Cheves Street, Ste 150, Florence, SC 29502. Cynthia will be remembered for her kind heart and free spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Arrangements are being handled by Floyd Funeral Home, Inc. in Olanta, SC.
