Dena Jo Coker Turbeville- Dena Jo Coker, age 73, died July 13, 2013 in McLeod Hospice House after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 4 PM Monday July 15, 2013 at Turbeville First Baptist Church with burial in Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. Visitation will be from 4-6 PM (today) at the Funeral Home. Dena was born April 29, 1940 in Florence County. She was a daughter of the late Cleo Richard Coker and Natalie Alice Purvis Coker. Dena was a member of the First Baptist Church of Turbeville and was active in the Children's Ministry as long as she was able to attend. She was educated in the Whitten Center in Clinton, SC. She worked about 20 years at Skyline Mfg. Co. in Turbeville until it closed. She is survived by a sister, Alyce C (Jimmie) Player of Lexington; a brother, Phillip P. (Betty) Coker of Turbeville; nieces, Phyllis (Derek) Gowdy of Camden, Melissa (Ronnie) Porter of Monroe, NC, Lyn (Kelly) Sullivan of Scranton, Jennie Bilbo of Lexington; two great nieces, Jaylee Bilbo and Natalie Porter; one great nephew, Ryan Sullivan; one uncle, Mutt Coker; three aunts, Betty Atkinson, Shirley Coker, and Gwen Coker; three devoted and loving caregivers, Betty Evans, Linda Gail Lee and Ethel Garland. Dena will be remembered for her love for people, especially children. She had a child-like heart and truly felt connected to children. She love the Lord and served in whatever capacity she could. She always greeted you with a smile and a hug. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of East Clarendon Medical Center and McLeod Hospice House.
