Denise Purvis Lake City Denise Purvis, age 50, died April 23, 2011 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Great Commission Ministries with burial in McClam Cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. Born in Florence County, she was a daughter of the late Fred Thomas Purvis and Barbara Ann Floyd. Ms. Purvis was employed with Walmart where she worked for over 30 years, a member of Great Commission Ministries and was a very special aunt and caregiver to many children over the years. Surviving are her step-mother, Mrs. Parker Purvis of Florence. Three sisters, Cathy P. (Bill) Floyd and Teresa Purvis both of Lake City, Gwen P. (Mike) Powell of Kingstree.
