Don Talmadge Moore

December 23, 1952 — February 1, 2022

Don Talmadge Moore, age 69, husband of Katrina T. Moore, passed away on February 1, 2022, and God gained another angel. Don was born on December 23, 1952 in Florence. He was a son of the late Elvin O’Neal Moore and the late Myrtle Calcutt Moore. Don grew up attending Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church prior to moving his membership to Grace Free Will Baptist Church in the early 2000’s, and was also a member of the Fidelity Masonic Lodge #394. Don graduated from Florence Darlington Technical College with a degree in Agricultural Agronomy. He was employed with Kerr-McGee Corp. as a chemical salesman and continued with Carolina Eastern Corp. until 1986. Don opened The Shrimper Seafood on April 1, 1986, where he dedicated himself to being a contributing small business owner to Lake City and the surrounding communities for 36 years. He wore many hats with his family, including all past and present employees of The Shrimper. He was a loving son, husband, father and beloved Papa to the grands and great grands. He was also a very loyal friend and confidant to many special people. Both family and friends will miss him dearly as he was taken to Glory much too soon. He is survived by his wife of 49 years; a son, Kyle Moore of Turbeville; a daughter Heather M. Lee of Lake City; five grandchildren, Nathan Moore, Kyson Moore, Bree Lee, Katey Lee, and Madelyn Moore; and a great grandson, Waylon Floyd. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Roger Moore. A graveside service will be held 11 A.M. on Monday, February 7, 2022, at Thomas Cemetery, 745 Park Avenue, Olanta with Rev. Carol Bazen officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the residence, 386 W. Main Street, Lake City, SC. The family request that memorials be made to the “Scotland Stogner’s” (Don’s brother and sister-in-law), C/O Mission to The World, P.O. Box 744165, Atlanta, GA 30374-4165 CDC guidelines for the COVID-19 virus and social distancing will be observed during the service. All attendees will be required to wear a mask.
