Turbeville - Dorothy N. Frye Anderson, 80, wife of HL Anderson, peacefully entered into the eternal presence of her loving Savior on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, while at her home in Turbeville, SC surrounded by her family and loved ones. Born on August 30th, 1944, in Williamsburg County, she was a daughter of the late Theodeo Floyd and Lurline Frye. She was a member of Pine Dale Pentecostal Holiness Church where she sang in the choir. A white bow has been placed at Dorothy's seat in the choir in her memory by Mrs. Phyllis Baker. Dorothy dedicated her life to her family as a housewife, creating a nurturing and loving home. Though she was not active in external organizations, her life's work and love were devoted to those closest to her heart. Dorothy is survived by her husband; four devoted daughters: Melinda A. DeBerry (Steve) of Summerville, Teresa A. Cooke (Randy) of Cottageville, Denise Cook of Marion, and Pam A. Player (Johnny) of Turbeville. She was also the proud grandmother of three grandchildren: Stephanie DeBerry Doss (Ben), Brooks Staves (Megan), and Haley C. Fisher (Phillip); and a cherished great-grandmother to Caleb Doss and Aiden Fisher. Dorothy will be missed by her loving sister, Virginia Frye of Myrtle Beach. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved son, Scott "Scottie" Anderson; her precious granddaughter, Kelsey Lewis Player; and her special aunt and uncle, Alma Beard Driggers and Lawrence Driggers. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11am on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Pine Dale Pentecostal Holiness Church, Turbeville, SC with Rev. Chad Culick, Rev. Brandon Chan, and Rev. Patrick Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Dale Pentecostal Holiness Church cemetery. A visitation to honor her life will be held from 10 - 11 AM on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Pine Dale Pentecostal Holiness Church in Turbeville, SC where family and friends can gather to remember and celebrate her life. At other times the family will receive guest at the home 1548 River Bend Lane, Turbeville, SC 29162. Her sons-in-law and grandsons will service as pallbearers: Johnny Player, Randy Cooke, Steve DeBerry, Brooks Staves, Ben Doss, and Philip Fisher. The family request that memorials be made to Pine Dale Pentecostal Holiness Church, 4450 Turbeville Highway, Turbeville, SC 29162. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the Amedisys Hospice Family, especially Alicia Flowers, Tanya Smith, and Dee Stegall for their love, care and compassion for Dorothy during her final days.
