Mary Earl Lee McKenzie Sumter Mrs. Mary Earl Lee McKenzie, age 94, died Monday, June 4, 2012 at Tuomey Hospital after an illness. A funeral service will be 4pm Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in church cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. Visitation will be from 2-4pm at the church prior to the service. Born in Florence County, she was a daughter of the late Archie Durant Suggs and Everette Osborne Suggs. Mrs. McKenzie worked during World War II in a munitions factory in Silver Springs, Maryland, was a retired Seamstress and Home Maker and was a member of Sumter Free Will Baptist Church of Pentecostal Faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene D. McKenzie. Two daughters, Wanda M. Collum and Sandra McKenzie. Five sisters, Levue Stone, Vergie Parry, Arie Feagin, Audrey Parry and Polly Murphy. Two brothers; A. Lamar Suggs and C.J. Suggs. Surviving are two daughters, Janet M. Bowers (Don) and Carolyn M. Gravitt (Randy) both of Kershaw, S.C. Two sons, C. Dean McKenzie (Wanda) of Florence and Ervin "Bo" McKenzie (Tammy) of Sumter. One sister; Jessie S. Casey (Bill) of Columbia. Eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
