Edna Miles Coker

Turbeville, SC – Edna "Harriet" Miles Coker, a beloved member of the Turbeville community, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, at the age of 67. Born in Florence County on February 22, 1957, Edna was a cherished daughter of her late parents and grew up with a deep sense of family and community values. Edna dedicated her life to her family and made her living as a hardworking textile worker. Her legacy lives on through her children and foster children, who remember her as a nurturing and supportive presence. She love to preach, sing,, playing the guitar and piano. She is survived by her daughter, Tara Hill and husband Bernard of Turbeville, and son, Alex McKnight and wife Amanda of Florence. Her foster children, Jerry W. Strickland, Sr. and wife Linda of Manning, and Tabitha Underwood of Timmonsville, were equally loved and supported. She was a proud grandmother to Cody, Summer, Chase, Abby, Aydin, Adisyn, Hunter, Kenzie, Rylee, Memphis, Stacy, and Will, and great-grandmother to nine great grandchildren. Her brothers, Donald B.. Miles of Turbeville and William Miles of Lake City, also survive her. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, Lamar Barney "L.B." Miles and Ruth Parker Miles; her loving husband, Jimmy Lee Coker; her son, T.J. McKnight; her daughter, Angel Williams; her great-grandchild, Brady Williams; and her siblings, Barney, Johnny, Lizzy, and Jetty. Despite her losses, Edna lived a life enriched by the love of those who remained by her side. A funeral service to honor Edna’s life will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 4, 2025, in the chapel of Floyd Funeral Home in Olanta. Burial will follow at the New Piney Grove FWB Church of the Pentecostal Faith Cemetery (1093 Piney Grove Road. Lake City, SC). Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Floyd Funeral Home. Pallbearers for the service include Chase Hill, Cody Williams, Jerry Strickland, Jr., Jamie Lee, Kenny Lee, Dylan Lee, and Michael Sprauve, who will carry Edna to her final resting place with the dignity and respect she deserves.
