Emma Jo Tomlinson

Mrs. Emma Jo Tomlinson age 79, of Olanta died March 17, 2014 in a Florence hospital after an illness.Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock pm Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Olanta Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery directed by Floyd Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.Born in Florence County, she was a daughter of the late Harold Rivers Truluck and Dora Jordan Truluck. She was a graduate of Olanta High School, attended Winthrop University and was a graduate of Francis Marion University. As an active member of Olanta Baptist Church, she served as a Sunday School teacher, organist, and pianist. She taught in Florence County District 3 Schools for 26 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.She was preceded in death by two children, Joey F. Tomlinson and Tammy Jo Tomlinson, a brother, Harold Truluck.Surviving are her husband of 58 years, James H. Tomlinson of Olanta, a daughter, Terri Lynn Thomas of Florence, two sons, Jimmy (Donna) Tomlinson of Conway and Bobby Tomlinson of Olanta, grandchildren, Lauren Tomlinson, Amber (John) Turner, Jennifer (Chris) Sawyer, Jessica (Stephen) Harrelson, and Christopher Thomas. Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Frank and Jerry Tomlinson of Olanta, and an aunt, Frankie Flowers. 4 great-grandchildren.Memorials may be made to Olanta Baptist Church, c/o Choir Fund, P.O.
