Coward Fred Kirby, age 64, who was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, died Friday, July 8, 2011 in a Columbia hospital after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 5 o'clock PM Monday July 11, 2011 at Floyd Funeral Home Chapel in Olanta with burial in Hicks Hill Cemetery in Scranton. Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 PM Sunday July 10, 2011 at the funeral home. Born in Florence County, he was a son of the late George Lambert Kirby and Ada Bell Rauch Kirby. He was retired from Kirby's Auto Sales, a Vietnam Veteran, a lifetime member of the DAV, and a member of The American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Ernestine Kirby and Christine Kirby. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Kirby of Coward, two daughters, Teresa (Billy) Cusaac and Melissa (Todd) Ham both of Olanta, two sisters, Jane (Charles) White of Florence, and Ann Dorr of Lugoff, three brothers, Harry (Becky) Kirby and James (Iris) Kirby both of Timmonsville, and Paul (Criss) Kirby of Florence, four grandchildren, Taylor and Chase Cusaac and Avery and Riley Ham.
