Gertrude W. Lee

Gertrude W. Lee Olanta Gertrude Welch Lee, age 88, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at a Florence hospital after an illness. A funeral service will be held 11am Friday, May 25, 2012 at Bethel Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Thursday (tonight) at the funeral home. Born in Florence County, she was a daughter of the late Joel Phillip Weaver and Mary Isabelle Beard Weaver. Mrs. Lee was a retired inspector in the clothing industry, a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Willie Welch, Jr. and Woodrow Lee; one sister, Travis Miles; two brothers, Joel Bubba Weaver and S. J. Weaver. She is survived by three daughters, Kathy (Robbie) Leviner of Turbeville, Shirley (John) Turner of Greenville, TX, and Patsy (Joe) Fezio of Covington, La; one son, Willie Joe (Linda) Welch of Scranton; one sister, Mary Idell Strickland of Florence; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
