Born in Florence County, SC, he was a son of the late Lewis Thomas Jones and Bonnie Virginia Jones. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, retired from General Telephone, a Mason, member of the Elks Lodge, lifetime member of The NRA, loved to coach Pony League Baseball, enjoyed traveling, and he was an avid outdoorsman. Surviving are his wife of 57 1/2 years, Melba "Faye" Welch of Timmonsville, A daughter, Cheryl Lynn (Lonie Douglas) Floyd of Florence, twin sons, Tim Lee (Becky) Jones of San Angelo, Tx and Kim Lewis Jones of Timmonsville, a sister, Annie Dell Phillips Greene of Lynchburg, grandchildren, Robert Jones, Jordan Fulcher, Ricky Jones, Amber Jones, Garrett Hollway, step-grandchildren, Marty Floyd and Brad Floyd, special canine companion, "Rowdy Yates" Memorials may be made to Veterans Honor Guard, P.
