James Hunter Moore Olanta James Hunter Moore, age 12, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 after an ATV accident. A funeral service will be held 4 PM Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at The Carolina Academy Gymnasium in Lake City, with burial in The Turbeville Southern Methodist Church Cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7pm tonight (Tuesday), and other times at the home of Jimmy & Ellen Moore, 11395 Douglas Swamp Road, Olanta. Born in Clarendon County, he was a son of James "Jay" Herbert Moore IV and Michele Floyd Moore of Olanta. Hunter attended The Carolina Academy where he was in the 6th grade, and was a 2015-2016 Honor Roll student who loved to read and had a great sense of humor. He was a member of The Carolina Academy's "All Star Dribbler's Basketball League" where he was #55 on "The Oreo's" team; he was also a medalist of the school's Science Fair, and a member of Turbeville Southern Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by an aunt, Dawn Floyd Morris; Paternal great grandfather, Earl Bradham Coker; Maternal great-grand parents, Fred & Francis Ardis, and Charlie & Cordie Floyd. Surviving besides his parents are his sister, Taylor Moore of the home; Maternal grandparents, James C. & Sandra A. Floyd of Manning, Paternal grandparents, Jimmy & Ellen Moore of Olanta, Paternal great grandparents, J.H. & Libby Moore of Olanta, and Vera Mae Coker of Turbeville. Maternal Uncle, Bubba Morris (children, Jay, Austin, and Samantha Morris) all of New Zion; Paternal Aunt, Michelle & Thomas Andersen (children, Haley, Max, Brody, and Ellee Anderson) all of Turbeville.
