OLANTA – Ila Mae Driggers Welch, 74, wife of Archie Michael Welch, entered her eternal rest on Sunday, October 30, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Born July 21, 1948, in Clarendon County, SC, she was a daughter of the late William H. Driggers and the late Betty Coker Driggers. She was a member of Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church for 59 years. Mae was in the banking industry for forty seven years prior to her retirement as a Customer Service Representative with The Citizens Bank, Turbeville Branch where she worked her last 42 years. She is survived by her husband of 53 years; two sons, Michael (Cindy) Welch of Olanta and Adam (Michelle) Welch of Lake City; three granddaughters, Caitlyn, Harley and Annabelle; one sister, Thelma (Walter) Knotts of Turbeville; two brothers, Sammie (Daisy) Driggers and Bobby (Brenda) Driggers all of Turbeville; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Driggers and Rosa Lee Driggers all of Turbeville; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Douglas Driggers, Eugene Driggers, Ellie Driggers, Lindburgh Driggers, Harry Lane Driggers, and DeLeon Driggers; five sisters, Elise Welch, Rebecca Simeral, Mildred DuBose, Gaynelle Matthews, and Anna Bryant Osborne. Graveside services will be 3pm on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Pine Dale Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery with Rev. Allen Lynch and Rev. Theron Scott officiating. Pallbearers will be, Randall Driggers, Blake Driggers, Joseph Driggers, Alex Springs, M.D. Floyd, Daniel Welch and Lavon Welch. The family request that memorials be made to Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church, 1097 Horse Branch Road, Turbeville, SC 29162. Visitation will be from 6 – 8pm on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Floyd Funeral Home.
