William Jake Gibbons Turbeville - "Jake, Jr." Gibbons age 86, died December 23, 2017 at his home after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock PM Tuesday December 26, 2017 at Turbeville First Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery directed by Floyd Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM prior to the service at the church. Born in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late William Jacob Gibbons, Sr. and Essie Leona Chandler Gibbons. He was a retired Rural U. S. Mail Carrier, a U.S. Army Veteran, and a member of Turbeville First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Graham Gibbons, a son, John Edward Gibbons and William Luther "Billy" Gibbons. He is survived by a daughter, Teresa (Joel) Hartley of Turbeville, a special friend who was like a daughter, Bonnie Langley of Darlington. 2 grandchildren, Grant (Marci) Gibbons of Sumter, and Wade (Cantey) Gibbons, of Columbia, 3 great-grandchildren, Hanna Grace, Lola and Eden.
