James Elven Evans

James Elven Evans, 90, died Friday, February 2, 2024, at his home in Olanta, SC. He was born in Florence County, a son of the late George Curtis Evans and Ruby Clair Dorriety Evans. He was preceded in death by his brothers Eugene Evans, Sonny Evans, and three sisters, Virginia Harrell, Sybil Bass, and Mary Carter. He was a member of Nazareth United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alvida Moore Evans; his children Dayna Evans Taylor and husband Ed Taylor, Sara Evans Talton, Eric Lewis Evans and wife Kim Evans; his grandchildren Charlotte Ingram Taylor, Sara Lewis Taylor, Evan Cheney Talton, Rachel Carver Talton, Rebecca Claire Talton, Austin James Evans, Alexis Frances Evans, Brittany Ruth Anne Evans, Kenneth Eric Evans; great grandchildren Everett James Talton, Isabella Alvida Hampshire and Emery Claire Hampshire; and sisters LaRue Anderson and Hazel Watford. A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held 2 pm on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, in Thomas Cemetery (700 Park Ave, Olanta, SC). The family will receive guest following the graveside service on Tuesday.
