James Edward "Eddie" Rush, age 57, son of the late J.P. Rush, Jr. and June Rush Dyches, died Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Grand Strand Memorial Hospital in Myrtle Beach from complications of pneumonia and his years of battle with cancer. He was born on November 19, 1957, and is survived by his mother of Walterboro, two brothers, John William Rush (Audrey) of Silver Spring, MD., and Raymond Bennett "Benny" Rush of Olanta, two sisters, Sara Beatrice Rush of Dallas, TX., and Gaye Rush Poston (Reggie) of Effingham. One aunt, Barbara Estes of Decatur, AL., one uncle, Jack M. Bennett, Jr. (Marilyn) of Talbatton, GA., as well as special cousins and their children. He graduated from Olanta High School, and the University of South Carolina, and was an Agent for Nationwide Insurance Company for many years, until his cancer would not allow him to continue working. He was an avid Gamecock fan, and was able to see his "Cocks" win their first game of the season. A Service of Remembrance will be held 3pm Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Thomas Cemetery, 745 Park Avenue, Olanta, S.C. 29114. The family will greet friends after the service at the cemetery.
