James Hugh Smith Irmo James Hugh Smith, age 68, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital in Columbia after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Pine Grove United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery, directed by FLOYD FUNERAL HOME of Olanta. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Born in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late Ernest Smith and Evelyn Driggers Smith. Mr. Smith was a Private in the U.S. Air Force, former member of the Lions Club, British Car Club and was a Tae Kwon Do enthusiast. He was the owner and operator of "The Hub Bar". He was preceded in death by a son; Baby Boy Smith. A sister; Rita Smith. Three brothers; David Smith, Keith Smith and Clyde Smith. Surviving are his wife of the home; Jean Deyorio Smith. One daughter; Jennifer (Steve) Luhrsen of Camp Lejeune, N.C.. Two sons; Jeff (Laura) Smith of Charlotte, N.C. and Joseph (Laura) Smith of Columbia, S.C.. Four sisters; Edith Ater of McKeesport, P.A., Sybil Gowdy of Cades, S.C., Myra Jean Nesbitt and Frankie Baxley both Turbeville, S.C.. Three brothers; Jack Smith of Rock Hill, S.C., Cecil Smith and Don Smith both of Turbeville. Eight grandchildren; Amanda Luhrsen, Katy Luhrsen, Grace Luhrsen, Benjamin Luhrsen, Reese Nichols, Drew Smith, Riley Smith and J.J. Smith.
