OLANTA – James “Jim” Otho Threatt, 86, husband of Cynthia Smith Threatt, entered his eternal home on Sunday, October 9, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Born May 18, 1936, in Fort Mill, SC, he was a son of the late Charles James Threatt and the late Mamie Ellen Boatwright. Jim was a member of the Olanta Baptist Church. He was a member of the Family Motor Coach Association and was a former member of the Olanta Business Association and the Olanta Gator Festival Steering Committee. He was the owner/operator of the James Donald Company in Olanta. Many knew "Mr. Jim" as the Funnel Cake Man. He is survived by his wife of 46 years; six children, Barbara Deese and Janet Johnston of Monroe, NC, David Revels (Patty) of Greenville, Mike Revels (Lisa) of Great Falls, Kathryne Jans (Brian) of Lynchburg, and Mary Elizabeth Threatt Boyce (Gene) of Cumming, GA; twelve grandchildren, Matthew, Corrie, Jessica, Joshua, Jana, Amanda, Oliva, Macey, Jamilyn, MaryKate, Kourtney, Weston; and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Betty Koch and a brother-in-law, Gardner Koch. A funeral service will be held 3pm on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at the Olanta Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Greene and Rev. Myers Graham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Olanta Baptist Church and other times at the home, 643 East Hampton Street, Olanta, SC.
