Janice Floyd Lavender

New Zion - Janice 'Jan' Floyd Lavender age 65, died January 21, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held 3:00p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Pine Dale Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in New Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5-9p.m. today (Saturday) at the home of Edward and Kerri Lavender, 6908 Salem Road in New Zion. Born in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late S. Bethea Floyd and Sybil Hardy Floyd. She was a graduate of East Clarendon High School, was employed with The Citizens Bank for 26years, and was a member of Freedom Worship Pentecostal Holiness Church in Sumter. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret "Maggie" Elizabeth Lavender. A brother-in-law, Marion Stanley Ward, and a nephew, William Matthew Ward. Surviving are her husband, Rev. Carl Lavender of New Zion. A son, Edward C. (Kerri) Lavender, III of New Zion. Two grandchildren, Edward Carlisle Lavender, IV, and Abigail Elizabeth Lavender. Four sisters, Joyce (Bubba) Johnson, Cheryl (Willie) Hodge, and Deb (Skippy) Osborne all of New Zion, and Gina (Brian) Dantzler of Santee. Two brothers, Ronnie D. (Anna Lynn) Floyd and Thomas L. (Coco) Floyd both of New Zion. Two sister-in-laws, Donna L. Ward of New Zion, and Miriam L. (Gus) Holladay of Summerville. A special family member, Ruth Player, 10 nephews and 9 nieces. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Beebe Coker and Christina Toney with Amedysis Hospice, Daisy Cooke and Margaret Ashbough, along with other caretakers.
