Jenny was the daughter of Connie Evans Blackwell (Roger) of Florence and the late Donn Kell Floyd (Mary “Sissy”) of Marion. She was a graduate of The Carolina Academy, Class of 2000 where she served as Senior Class President and for several years, she was a cheerleader, played basketball and softball. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina in Criminal Justice and Criminology. She began working at the Florence County Sheriff’s Office in the jail for a short time before working as a Highway Deputy. Afterward, she advanced to Investigations where she worked with elderly adults and children. Jenny had a passion for children and decided she wanted to become a School Resource Officer (SRO) at West Florence High School where she mentored children and implemented a program to help underprivileged kids at the school. After several years there, she took her final job calling as an SRO at The South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics in Hartsville. She served in multiple capacities over the years and was currently the Secretary for the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #25 where she recently received an award for Member of the Year. Jenny was a devoted member of Hoffmeyer Road Baptist Church. She was also an avid traveler who enjoyed spending time at some of her favorite places including the beach, the lake, and especially Daufuskie Island, SC. All who knew Jenny knows she had a passion for family, life, travel, kids, dear friends and she loved immensely. Surviving are her loving and devoted husband, Marcus Lee of Florence; her mother, Connie Evans Blackwell (Roger) of Florence; her step-mother, Mary “Sissy” Fountain Floyd of Marion; her mother-in-law, Vada Lee of Florence; a sister, Kimberly Floyd Johnson (Deon) of Lake City; step-brothers, Brandon (Whitney) Blackwell of Florence, Ian Blackwell of Summerville, Jason (Mykea) Jordan of Marion and Will (Alex) Jordan of Fort Mill; her beloved nieces and nephews, Gabriella “Gabby” McKenzie and Leah McKenzie both of Lake City, Emory Blackwell, Rocky Blackwell and Joseph Tate Blackwell all of Florence; aunts and uncles, Patsy (Wallace) Fraley of Florence, Linda (Bill) Price of Columbia, Lisa Floyd of Olanta, and Kerry (Georgia) Floyd of Summerton; and her beloved animals that she loved dearly. Kelton and Jimlyn “Jeekie” Floyd. When Jenny worked as an Investigator for FCSO she worked closely with the CARE House of the Pee Dee and became very close with those employed there due to their compassion that they provided to children who were victims of crimes. They offer medical exams as well as therapies to promote healing for children and their families. The CARE House held a special place in Jenny’s heart and for that reason the family request that memorials be made to the Jennifer Floyd Lee Memorials, c/o CARE House of the Pee Dee, 1920 Second Loop Road, Florence, SC 29501.
