GEORGETOWN – John “Dick” Ell Tedder, 84, of Georgetown, husband of the late Mary Frances Black Tedder, died Friday, August 5, 2022, at Blue Ridge of Georgetown nursing facility after an extended illness. Born February 26, 1938, in Florence, SC, he was a son of the late Eugene Tedder and the late Marie Welch Tedder. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having obtained the rank of Sergeant First Class and served during the Korean War. He retired as a heavy equipment operator with Florence County Public Works. He was a member of Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church where he was a member of the Men’s Fellowship and Sunday school class. He is survived by his daughter, Angie (Justin) Kohl of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Eric Carpenter, Chase (Bailey) Kohl, Taylor (Chris) Overholt, and Courtney (Lee) Thomas; nine great grandchildren; and two nephews, Danny (Stella) Lee of Cades and BoBo Lee of Kingstree. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 53 years; two daughters, Candy Tedder and Rebecca Tedder; and his siblings. A private graveside service will be held 11 A.M. on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Bethany Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Craig Tedder officiating.
