John Walter "Bob" Matthews Scranton - John Walter "Bob" Matthews age 80, died April 19, 2019 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock PM Tuesday April 23, 2019 at Beulah FWB Church with burial in Hicks Hill Cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM Monday evening at Beulah Church. Born in Florence County, he was a son of the late Daniel Matthews and Lelar Miles Matthews. Mr. Matthews was formerly employed with J. P. Stevens and Delta Mills, he attended Beulah FWB Church with Pentecostal Faith. Mr. Matthews was preceded in death by brothers; Pleasant Matthews, Wilbur Edward Matthews, Woodrow Matthews, Sisters; Louise Lee, Cecil McCutcheon, and Ernestine Jones. He is survived by a daughter, Dara Lynn Locklair of Scranton, a son, Danny Matthews of Scranton, a sister, Jenette Coker of Lake City, and former son-in-law, Mitchell Locklair, grandchildren, Jessica (Andy Douglas) Locklair and Cody (Samantha) Locklair, Seven great-grandchildren.
