John Rush "J.R." Floyd, Sr. Scranton Mr. John Rush "J.R." Floyd, Sr. age 77, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Lake City- Scranton Healthcare Center after an illness. A funeral service will be held at 3pm Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Floyd Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8pm tonight (Saturday) at the funeral home. Born in Florence County he was a son of the late Henry Fulton Floyd and Bonnie Viola McKenzie Floyd. He was the owner of J.R.'s Auto's, a member of Lake City Masonic Lodge #193, a member of Omar Shrine, and a member of Great Commission Ministries. He loved fishing and watching the Atlanta Braves. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Diane Floyd. Two sons, Michael Terry Floyd and John Murray Floyd. A son-in-law, Jimmy Sharp, a daughter-in-law, Peggy Moody. Two sisters, Jensey Ruth Floyd and Winnie Lou Reed. Surviving are his wife, Clara "Audrey" Floyd of Scranton. Four daughters, Joyce (Mike) Welch, Janice Sharp, Sherry (Paul) Lee all of Lake City and Sharon (Wayne) Floyd of New Zion. Three sons, Randy Moody, Kenny Moody both of Hartsville and Rusty (Eileen) Floyd of Coward. Three brothers, Franklin (Faye Lee) Floyd, Ronald Floyd and Norwood (Shirley) Floyd. Twenty grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
