TURBEVILLE – Joseph “Joe” Miller Mellette, Sr, 71, entered his eternal rest on Thursday, July 18, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born July 13, 1953, in Turbeville, SC he was a son of the late Miller Herbert Mellette, Jr. and the late Olive Coker Mellette. He attended Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church and was a retired farmer. Joe Miller will be remembered for his kindness, and love for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by two sons, Joe Miller Mellette, Jr. of Florence and Miller Herbert (Rogan) Mellette III of New Zion; four grandchildren, Carsten Mellette, Jackson Mellette, Olive Grace Mellette, and Millie Mellette; two sisters, Ann Hall of Longs and Janet (Johnny) Calder of Conway; one brother, Eddie (Sue) Mellette of Columbia; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Landa Bleasdale. A graveside funeral service will be held 11am on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Turbeville, SC with Mr. Denny Gibbons and Mr. Jarrett Calder officiating. The family will receive visitors at the residence of Miller and Rogan Mellette, 5005 Old Manning Road, New Zion, SC. Pallbearers will be Billy Graham, Ray Kennedy, Kenny Miles, Ryan Hall, Josh Calder, and Phillip Coker.
