Kally Barfield Jenkins

SUMTER – Kally Mae Barfield Jenkins, 85, widow of George Jenkins, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at National Health Care Center of Sumter. Born August 30, 1938, in Florence, SC, she was the daughter of the late Wade Butler Barfield and the late Ola Mae Porter Barfield. She was a member of Cash Baptist Church in Cheraw. Kally enjoyed singing in the church choir. Kally also enjoyed other hobbies such as gardening, which included a multitude of flowers. Her favorite flower would be the white rose. Walking on the beach as well as collecting seashells was a favorite past time. Family and friends were of the upmost importance to Kally in which she loved spending time with them and sharing stories with her loved ones. She is survived by three daughters, Sandra McElveen (James) of Sumter, Shelia Renee Stewart (Francisco) of Myrtle Beach, and Sharon Stewart of Dalzell; five grandchildren, Tyler Lee, Sheena Edwards (Bill), Magen Macauley McElveen, Jamie Kaye McElveen, and Logan Elizabeth McElveen; one great-grandchild, Yasmen Neslson; three great-grandchildren, Laytrey Owens, Skey Lee, Skey Marie Lee; brother, Carlisle Barfield (Alice) of Barrineau; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and four brothers, Junior Barfield, Mack Barfield, Cutter Barfield, and Durant Barfield. A family graveside memorial service will be held at 3p.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2023, in New Town Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Nathan Falco officiating.
