Larry Scurry\ Olanta Larry "Little Willie" Scurry, age 57, died Wednesday, August 15, 2012 after a brief illness. Funeral services will be 12 noon at New Town Free Will Baptist Church with burial in church cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to funeral service. Born in Florence County, he was a son of Ella Abrams Scurry and the late Barney Ray Scurry. He attended Olanta High School, was formerly employed by Thompson Oil & Gas, Weaver's Service Station and the Manor House. His greatest love was spending time with his friends and family. He is preceded in death by his brother, Terry "Moody" Scurry and a niece, Donna "Missy" Welch. Surviving besides his mother of Florence, are three sisters, Shirley (Donnie Ray) Welch of Turbeville, Bonnie (Billy) Yates of Lake City and Janice (Jay Strickland) Dennis of Coward. A brother, Jerry Scurry of Florence. Seven nieces and nephews, Christal (TW) Kelley of Hartsville, Chad Yates and Linsey Yates both of Lake City, Ashley (Bryan) Byrd of Scranton, CJ (Devin) Dennis of Cusaacs, Ray Welch of Turbeville and Sheila (Charles) Hickman of Johnsonville. He also leaves behind thirteen great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Coneet Brown, Kimberly Parker, and Rev. Frank Sedgwick with Agape Hospice for all of their help and love during their time of need.
