Leroy "Roy" Bryant

February 23, 1949 — September 20, 2021

TURBEVILLE – Roy Bryant, 72, husband of Eloise Parker Bryant, died September 20, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family and loved ones. Born February 23, 1949, in Lake City, he was the son of the late Albert Bryant and the late Bertie Welch Bryant. He was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator and Mechanic from Byrd’s Equipment Co. He attended Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Pentecostal Faith Church. He loved fishing, hunting, working on tractors and operating heavy equipment. He especially enjoyed hanging out with his best friend R. W. Welch. He is survived by his wife of 54 years; one son, Jason Bryant (Courtney) of Turbeville; one daughter, Pam Yarborough (Kevan) of Scranton; three grandchildren, Danielle Culick, Emsley Bryant, and Brittany Walker; one brother, Dexter Bryant (Nancy) of Turbeville; one sister, Bonnie Hickman of Turbeville; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Jay Bryant, Cullie Bryant, Delbert Bryant and Olin Bryant; four sisters, Iven Bryant, Velvadean Marsh, Adell McKenzie, and Ada Tilton; a grandchild, Albany Culick; and a niece, Renee Bray. A graveside service will be held 11 A.M. on Thursday, September 23, 2021, in the Floyd Chapel Cemetery, Lake City with Rev. Arthur McElveen and Rev. Donald Duncan officiating. A visitation will be held from 6 – 8 P.M. on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Floyd Funeral Home and at other times at the residence 4782 Turbeville Highway, Turbeville. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Shannon McCord, Cindy Barnette, Trina and Wendy of Agape Hospice for their love, care, and support they provided Roy and family during his illness. Because of the current outbreak of the Delta variant of COVID-19, we recommend that attendees take the precautions of using face masks and practice social distancing at the service.
