Lake City - Mr. Lindell Charlie "Dunk" Spring, Sr., age 70, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014 at his residence after an illness. A funeral service will be held at 4 pm Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Floyd Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church with entombment at Lake City Memorial Park, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm tonight (Tuesday) at the funeral home. Born in Williamsburg County, he was a son of the late Capers Ashby Spring, Sr. and Margaret Beatrice Bennett Spring. Mr. Spring was a Farmer, a Veteran of the Army National Guard, and a member of Floyd Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he served as the past Sunday school Superintendent. He is preceded in death two sisters, Susie Spring and Annie Dell Carraway. Five brothers, Lindberg Spring, Capers Ashby "Tottler" Spring, Jr., Calvin Spring, Ben Spring and M.C. Floyd. Surviving are his wife, Peggy Nettles Spring of the home. Two daughters, Leslie Watts (Hal) of Sumter, Lee Hopkins (Louie) of Florence. One son, Len Spring (Tammy) of Lexington. Three sisters, Janie Floyd (Junior), Shirley Carraway (Carl) both of Lake City and Debbie Powell (Bobby) of Johnsonville. One brother, Carroll Spring (Queen) of Lake City. Four sisters-in-law, Annette Spring, Christine Spring, Susan Spring, and Gail Spring. One brother-in-law, Billy Carraway. Seven grandchildren, Lindsey Spring, Kerragan Spring, Alex Spring, Taylor Watts, Claudia Watts, Ethan Watts, and Lauren Hopkins.
