Louise Powell Welch

Louise Powell Welch, age 102, passed away Monday November 23, 2020 in a Florence Nursing Facility. A visitation will be held from 2pm to 3pm Wednesday November 25, 2020 at Floyd Funeral Chapel with a funeral service to follow. Interment will follow at Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. Born in Florence County in 1918, she was the daughter of the late James and Sara Parker Powell. She was a member of Camp Branch Pentecostal holiness Church, the Cleo McKenzie Circle of Frierson's Tabernacle Church, and was a former employee of Avon Dale Manufacturing Company. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reddin Welch; son, Tommy Welch Jr; grandson, Mitch Driggers; siblings, Carrie McElveen, Lula Powell, Heyward Powell, Horace Powell, Helen Scott, Betty Smoak, Valerie Gurganious, and Kenny Powell. Louise is survived by her daughters, Virginia Driggers of Turbeville and Judy Hall (Andy) of Olanta; 4 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren. The family would like to have a special appreciation to the staff of Commander Nursing Center (Northeast Hall) and special roommate, Brenda Bullard; and thank you to McLeod Hospice.
