BARRINEAU – Mack Arthur Beard, 79, husband of Janice Langston Beard, entered his eternal rest on Thursday, June 30, 2022, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born August 19, 1942, in Barrineau, he was a son of the late Andrew James Beard and the late Delmot Floyd Beard. He attended Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a member of the Adult Sunday school class. He, along with his son owned and operated Beard Farms, LLC. Known as “PaPa” by his grandchildren and “PaPa Mack” by his great grandchildren. Everyone knew that the grands and great grands were his heart and life. He is survived by his wife of 56 years; one daughter, Amy Beard McGee (Donny) of Lake City; one son, Mack Arthur Beard, Jr. (Tiffani) of Lake City; seven grandchildren, Deane Burrows (Brantley), Emily Filyaw (Myles), Mack Arthur “Tripp” Beard III (Rebecca), David McGee (Miranda), Susanna Burgess (Graham), Cameron Beard, and Judson Beard; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Faye Lee, and Queen Spring (Carroll); one brother, Ray Beard (Rhonda); one special brother-in-law, Donald Langston (Kaye); one sister-in-law, Mary Nell Beard; a special nephew, Ray Phelps (Arce); and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Freddie Kyle Beard; one sister, Lottie Mae Hyman; and three brothers, Levi Beard, J.H. Beard, Donald Beard. A funeral service will be held 3 PM on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Dr. Bobby Floyd and Rev. Michael Cantey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 2 – 3 PM on Sunday at the church prior to the service and at other times at the residence, 2933 Barrineau Road, Lake City, SC. The family request that memorial be made to the Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church, 3709 St. James Road, Lake City, SC 29560.
