Margaret White Copeland

Olanta Margaret White Copeland, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. A graveside service will be held 10am, Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the Olanta Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend John Myers Graham officiating, directed by Floyd Funeral Home. Born in Florence County on April 17, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Maggie Brown White and Jenkins White. She attended Winthrop College, and retired from Florence County School District #3 in Olanta, was a member of Olanta Baptist Church, and the Ladies Bible Class. She is survived by her beloved children; a daughter, Cathy Copeland of Olanta; two sons, Carl Copeland of Olanta, and Phil Copeland (Jacque) of Fort Mill, S.C.; two step-grandchildren, Jason Jones and Janan Jones both of Summerville; two step-great-grandchildren, Tennah Murphy and Owen Murphy both of Pineville, N.C.; and a special thanks to her caretaker, Judy Williams. She was the widow of Herbert Legrande Copeland, who preceded her in death in June of 1965, and was preceded in death by her brother, Cecil White, and a sister, Edna Lowder.
