Margaret McGee Olanta Margaret Parnell McGee age 92, died January 30, 2012 at her home after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock PM February 2, 2012 at Floyd Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:30 PM until just prior to the service at the funeral home. Born in Darlington County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Edwin Parnell, Sr. and Luvilla Windham Parnell. Mrs. McGee was educated in Charleston Schools and then moved back to Sardis where she lived most of her life. She was retired from Carolina's Hospital System where she worked as a switchboard operator for over 25 years, she was a member of Sardis Baptist Church, The Florence County Home Demonstration Club, a 4H leader for several years, The Woodmen of The World, and was an avid reader. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Emma Faircloth, Barbara Moore, Patsy Skinner, a brother James Parnell. Surviving are a daughter, Linda (James Ernie) Ard, Sr. of Olanta, a brother, Charles (Lillian) Parnell of Summerville, a sister-in-law, Nell Church Parnell of Mt. Pleasant, a grandson, James Ernest "J.E." Ard, Jr. of Olanta. Memorials may be made to an organization of one's choice, or to the Friends of the Olanta Public Library, P. O.
