Margaret Bingham Smith Tybee Island, Georgia Margaret B. Smith, age 75, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at National Healthcare in Sumter, after an illness. A graveside service will be held at 11 am, Friday, January 20, 2012 at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery in the Lynchburg community, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Thursday, January 19, 2012 (tonight) at the funeral home. Born in Sumter County, near the Olanta community, she was a daughter of the late Robert Kirby Bingham and Willa Rhea Moore Bingham. She was a book-keeper and worked as a antique dealer. Margaret and her husband Walter were former residents of Tybee Island and Savannah, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her sister, Emma Rhea Tedder and a brother-in-law, William Delbert Floyd. She is survived by her husband, Walter E. Smith of Savannah, Georgia. A son, William Jack "Rocky" (Marguerite) Hollingsworth, Jr. of Franktown Co. Two sisters, Joanne Floyd of Lake City and Grace (Wyman) Watts of Mayesville. Three step-children, Bruce (Pam) Smith of Athens Ga., Carol (Birkie) Ayer of Augusta, Ga., and Nora Richardson of Savannah, Ga. One brother-in-law, Rosevelt Tedder of Timmonsville. Twelve step-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 895 Pleasant Grove Road, Lynchburg, S.C. 29080.
