Marian Coward Lynch

SCRANTON – Marian Coward Lynch, 85, widow of Allen “Jim” Lynch, died Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at McLeod Regional Medical Center of the Pee Dee. Born April 9, 1937, in Florence County, she was a daughter of the late Ira K. Coward and the late Mittie Lynch Coward. She, along with her husband, owned and operated Lynches Grocery Store. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Church of God of Prophecy. She is survived by her son, Robbie A. (Donna) Lynch of Scranton; two grandsons, Zack Lynch and Blane Lynch both of Scranton; two nieces, Marie (Ron) Eaddy and Ester Miles both of Scranton; four nephews, Ronnie (Jean) Coward, Terry Coward, and Bobby Coward all of Scranton, and Dale Wilkes of Florence. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Olivia Wilkes; two brothers, Elliott Coward and Ira Joe Coward; a nephew, Roger Coward; and nieces, Annette Makin, Mary Ellen Coward, and Vivian Yarborough. A funeral service will be held 1pm Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Pleasant Grove Church of God of Prophecy. Burial will follow in Serenity Gardens (the Wilkes Cemetery).
