Martha "Joanne" Hickson Timmonsville Martha "Joanne" Hickson age 81 died September 21, 2018 at her home after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 4 PM Tuesday September 25, 2018 at Floyd Funeral Home Chapel in Olanta with burial in Bethany Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 PM - 4PM prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Born in Clarendon County she was a daughter of the late Edward Carl McElveen and Silema Welch McElveen. Mrs. Hickson attended Bethany Free Will Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Elijah "Sambo" Hickson, and a daughter, Deborah Hickson Filyaw. Surviving are a daughter, Ruby Hickson (Charlie) Edwards of Florence, four sons, Samuel E. (Sheila) Hickson, Jr., of Cheraw, P. Allen Hickson and Rohert (Rusty) Hickson both of Florence, Theron "Tee" (Amber) Hickson of Timmonsville, three sisters, Myrna Thames of Columbia, Carolyn (Wenddell) Morris of Manning, and Mary (James) Beasley of Turbeville, four brothers, Ronald McElveen of Florence, Tracy (Jan) McElveen and Lloyd (Rhunette) McElveen both of Turbeville, and Vernon (Cindy) McElveen of Batesburg, Fourteen Grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
