Martha Floyd Mcelveen

April 15, 1935 — April 17, 2022

BARRINEAU – Martha Floyd McElveen, 87, entered her heavenly rest on Sunday, April 17, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her family. Born on April 15, 1935, in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late JD Floyd and the late Etta Beard Floyd. She was a member of the Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Women’s Ministries. She was retired from Baxter Laboratories. She is survived by two daughters, Katie (Ronald) Lane and Joyce (Wilbur) Taylor all of Lake City; two grandchildren, Brian (Sonya) Lane of Lexington and Brooke (Trey) Camp of Moncks Corner; three great grandchildren, Mia Rebecca Lane of Lexington, Destiney Ann Camp and Emoree Taylor Camp both of Moncks Corner; one sister, Leila Floyd Mims of Pamplico; and a number of special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Kathleen Frye, Myrlene Smith, and Mary (Twin) Whieldon; and two brothers, Robbie Lee Floyd and Delbert Floyd. A funeral service will be held 3 PM on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, in the sanctuary of Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Dr. Bobby Floyd, Rev. Michael Cantey and Rev. Scott Ard officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brantley Burrows, Ronnie Thigpen, Del Floyd, Al Floyd, Mackie Beard, Luke Byers, and Randy Nicholson. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service ( 2 – 3 PM) at the church and at other times at her home, 1778 Barrineau Road, Lake City. The family request that memorials be made to the Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church or to Amedysis Hospice.
